Hey Everyone,

Naota here with another episode of what frosts my muffins. It has been quite a while since my last rant but I think it is time to write something new.

WARNING: This article contains Language that may not be suitable for people under the age of 30. You have been warned.

Over the past couple of months I have been getting some interesting comments on my blog  pertaining a blog I have written back in September of 2009 with the title Retarded Cry Babies. These comments appear to be by friends and possibly family members of the Douche Nozzle the blog entry was written about.

I have written comments back explaining my reasons why I wrote the article and I keep getting flack back. I have to love those thread necros who troll sites bringing shit up that has happened years in the past. Left the fucking shit be. Don’t throw fuel on the perverbial fire.  I find it funny how people who are not directly involved get involved in something.

I have to say WTF. I hate trolls. I have had it with these shit eating ass spelunking  trolls who are trying to start a major shit STORM. I have offically ended the comment thread on that blog article because I am tired of this bullshit. FUCK OFF you golden crested dildocorns. Why don’t you do something creative with your time other than trolling my own blog?

This is my blog, my rules and I have the right to maintain the integrity of the blog as I see fit. I have the right to my own opinion and if you don’t like it leave. No one is taking you by the arm and forcing you read my blog. You can fine many blogs online that will suit our own fancy. I think you should go out and get a mother fucking damn life. If you want to read an article about Forum Moderation which also applies to personal websites. then check it out.

I have already wrote an article called FLAMMING TROLLS OF DOOM. I have had exprienced this shit in the past and you know what? I don’t like it.

You are entitled to your own opinions on what you think of may. Wether it is a good opinion or bad I am not going to loose any sleep over it because I am me and that is that.

I am done with this bull shit. Let sleeping giants rest. Keep the past in the past and worry about the present. I don’t need to get an ulcer because of some pussy fart who wants to start trouble.

I am done with this episode of what frosts my muffin. I know it was short but some times its not the quantity but the quality.

Asus, A Technical Support Nightmare Part 2.

No Gravatar

I know it has been a while since my first post regarding my technical
support nightmare with ASUS. There was many things going on that was
prohibiting me from writing this update.

Anyways, I called back when I was off from work. I was on hold for
about 1 hour between being dropped and transferring between
departments. After some time I finally spoke with a knowledgeable rep
that was able to research my issue and let me know what the status of
my RMA was.

The representative was confused why the RMA number was issued but I
wasn’t given any further instructions. He was a bit puzzled on the
fact that I was escalated to upper management in their tech support
office in California. But after some time he was able to go give the
the information I needed.

After verification of my address and email I was sent 2 emails while
on the phone with the rep. The first email was filled with RMA
instructions and the second email had a FED EX, Prepaid  shipping
label so that I can send in my defective motherboard back without any
cost to me.

I thanked the technical support representative in at least getting
me pointed in the right direction to get this issue resolved. Now it
is a waiting game.  I disassembled my computer and put the motherboard
into the box that it was shipped in and printed out the label. I sent
out the motherboard via FedEx and now I am waiting for ASUS to get it.
They should have it by the 18th.

In the mean time I will have to keep you posted with a 3rd part of
this story when I get the replacement board to see whether or not the
issue was fully resolved.

ASUS – A TECH SUPPORT NIGHTMARE

I have been building computers and repairing computers for the past 10 years. When it comes to troubleshooting I am really good at what I do. In 2008 I decided to build a brand new computers when my previous computer died after 8 years of great services. This computer would be used as a video gaming computer, Video Editing station and file storage server for my home based computer repair business.

My mother helped finance my new computer build as a birthday gift. I started pricing out computer parts and started to build a virtual computer on paper. As part of my computer build process I read the manuals of the hardware in which I am thinking about using to verify that all the hardware I buy are compatible with each other. This way I know that my newly built computer will operate properly without any hardware incompatibilities.

After a month of research I decided to build a computer with the following components.

  • CPU: AMD Phenom 9950 Black Edition Quad Core Processor
  • Motherboard: ASUS: M3a32-mvp deluxe wifi
  • RAM: 4 Gigabytes of Corsair Dominator memory
  • Hard Drives: 2, 1 Terabyte Samsung SATA Hard Drives with 32 Megabytes cache
  • Video: 2 ATI RADEON 4870 HD 512m
  • Power Supply: ThermalTake Truepower 1200 Watt Modular Power Supply
  • Case: ThermalTake Armour 1 Case

In late August I placed my order from newegg.com. The order arrived within a week in early September 2008. The computer was built in about 1 hour and I powered the computer on. There was no post. The fans would power on and the video cards lights would blink. I pulled out 1 of the 2 gig sticks of ram and the computer didn’t boot. I tried the other ram and the computer booted fine.

I wound up rma’ing the memory because it was DOA. I rma’ed the memory through NEW EGG and I received a replacement within a week. When I received the memory The computer started up fine. I tried installing windows XP but got random blue screens. I thought since it was 64 bit hardware and the software I was trying to install was 32 bit So I Bought a copy of 64 bit Windows Vista and the computer installed fine.

Throughout a 2 year period I had to rma 1 hard drive and the memory through the manufactures. They were replaced within a normal amount of time. I would say the normal turn around rate was about 1 to 2 weeks after 1 call for an rma number issue. There was still one major problem that I was having. That problem was random rebooting and lock up when running applications such as games and other software.

The problem started to get bad when I decided I wanted to use raid when I installed 2 perfectly working Western Digital Raptor Hard Drives. I was getting a NOT ENOUGH SPACE ON PCI OPTION ROM. During Windows installs I would get random stop messages appearing so fast that I couldn’t press the pause key to write them down.

In June 2010, I became very fed up with this problem and I decided to open a trouble shooting case with ASUS’s Technical Support Department because my motherboard has a 3 year manufacturers warranty. Upon the initial email it took around 3 weeks for a response back stating to read the manual.

I am no stranger to building computers. I have been building computers for 10 years. I know how raid works and how set it up. I have specifically stated that I have upgraded the bios tested my hardware in other machines that are known working. I have come to the conclusion the problem had to deal with the motherboards south bridge chip set.

After a couple of responses back from their technical support department stating that they cant help me because I was refusing to include the Windows Stop messages. I wrote them Back stating that I cant get them because the computer keeps rebooting faster than I can press the stop button.

Finally, in October I was issued a RMA NUMBER after months of no response. I sent the main board back in and in November I received an email back stating that a replacement motherboard will be shipped out. I replied back confirming my address and to confirm the motherboard upgrade to M3A79T-Deluxe motherboard. The confirmation email stated that A replacement will be shipped and I would be notified when it is shipped with a Tracking number.

That never happened. The motherboard Replacement was shipped in early November and I didn’t receive the replacement motherboard until December. 1 month to ship the board. What in the world is this all about. I mean this is just Wrong. Every other Manufacturer that I have dealt with regarding RMA sent the items out in a timely manor. What is wrong with them.

Once I received the new motherboard, I found out that it a re certified motherboard. I rebuilt the computer only to find out that it won’t boot. I did my troubleshooting steps and narrowed down the problem to the ram. I decided to buy new memory. I Bought 8 Gigs of G-Skill Memory that is listed in the Motherboard Manuals Qualified Hardware Vendors List.

When I received the memory I populated all 4 slots with the memory. No go. The computer wouldn’t boot. I later found out that the Memory Slots A1 and A2 were bad. It wouldn’t boot with memory in those slots. I was filled with anger because a replacement board that is supposed to be re certified as working was bad.

I emailed ASUS back again to inform them of the new situation. The response I got back was quite funny. It said. “I do apologize for your inconvenience. You will need to open a new Trouble Ticket Case for a New RMA. I am confused how a re certified board is not working.” I had to laugh. The next day I wound up calling their technical support hot line number.

I dialed their technical support number the next day. I was placed immediately on hold then 10 minutes later a technical support rep picked up the phone. I gave him the case number and told him my situation. The person was trying to insult my troubleshooting skills. I told him that I replaced the memory, I tested the cpu and other hardware in a known working machine. I told him it was a motherboard issue and he scoffed and agreed after 10 minutes of arguing with him. He said ASUS would email me a RMA number with instructions. Lets just say that never happened.

Over the next Couple of days I never received an RMA number via email. I waited some extra time mainly because I of the holidays before trying to get this information. One day I decided to go a head and submit another response for the rma number as well as writing a very bad email to their Customer Service Department for a complaint.

One week later I received an apologetic letter stating that there has been an issue with their ticking system and that I would be immediatly forwarded to a supervisor. That didn’t happen. I didn’t get a response until I wrote back and left negative feed back. I was issued a new RMA NUMBER on 1/14/11 but I wouldn’t get a response if a advance rma could be processed due to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr day because the offices were closed.

That is where I stand right now. 8 months of no resolution. There is just a major amount of bad technical support with ASUS. This Company is starting to anger me. I don’t get mad easily but that is starting to happen. This afternoon I decided to voice a complaint over the phone. My experience was horrid.

I dialed their number Spoke with 1 person and got hung up upon. Dialed again and waited for 5 minutes before leaving a message for a call back. I dialed again Spoke with another rep and was transferred to a hold queue with just Christmas music playing in the background. I waited 45 minutes before hanging up.

I think I will try calling them back either tomorrow of the next day and try to find out what my options are. I am feeling like I am being taken advantage of and laughed at by those incompetent level 1 and level 2 technicians as well as their poor customer service skills.

There is no doubt that I will be writing a follow up article regarding this technical support nightmare. This experience is just one of those things that makes me want to go ahead and unleash all my anger in very creative ways. But at this point in time I think that I am done with my venting. This just frosts my muffin in a really bad way. I just hope to get this issue resolved as soon as possible because I want to be able to use this machine the way it was intended to be used as.

Radio Controlled Mayhem

After a long day at work, I like to come home and unwind. Sometimes, I go on the computer and play some video games. Other times I just surf the web and work on projects like HV Anime Club and other hobbies of mine. In some rare cases I just come home, eat dinner and just go straight to sleep. Those are just ways unwind and relax.

For some of you know have been followers of my blog you know I am into a whole range of hobbies from watching anime, reading manga, playing MINI’s, web design, Forum and Website Moderation, computer repair, networking, Magic the Gathering and Radio Controlled Vehicles. I do this to keep me occupied and  to enjoy life and relax.

The other night I had a bit of a mishap while working on my TRAXXAS E-MAXX RC Monster Truck. Somehow the Electronic Speed Control short circuited causing one of my RC Batteries to explode  on me. Now I would like to clear up some things first. The First thing is that the battery didn’t physically explode on me. The battery cooked and boiled to hot that it caused a thermal reaction inside it that it was starting to blow out steam and nearly explode. Now I was fast with my reflexes to put the battery in a bucket of water so that it it did explode and spew its battery acid everywhere the water would neutralise the acid so I can safely dispose of the item properly.

Since that incident, I was able to fully fix the rear bulk heads on the E-Maxx and remove the Speed Control. I then fixed the transmission gear in the HPI RS4-1 nitro rc car I have. As I was working on that car  I wound up installing the gear, fixing the receiver battery pack wiring and work on the front steering. The Steering is still sluggish but I will slowly work on that. I have all the time in the world after work and on my days off to try to figure out what is going on with that steering.

I believe that the server may be damage and needs to be replaced. What I am going to do is unhook the server arm from the servo and see how fast it responds. If the reaction time is fast then I will wok on the linkage and other steering components until the steering is fast enough for an RC car to be.

Other than that with the steering I have put in the Fail Safe so that if the car looses radio contact it will safely being the car down to a safe stop.  The only thing left to do is safely mount the battery and run the engine to see how the car runs overall. Now, I did try to attempt to start the engine. Unfortunately, the glow plug igniter didn’t have ample amount of charge to crank the engine over. I will charge it and then see if the engine starts.

Well, it is now officially 2 days since that incident with the batteries and the ESC. I did email Traxxas support with the information about the issue. I did receive a response back. Stating it sounds like an issue with the esc. I need to send the part in with a 20 dollar money order for warranty work and shipping. Now that is a good deal considering the part that fried is about 190 bucks brand new. So if this save me money I am all up to save money. The only thing that wasn’t mentioned was the replacement of the 180 dollars worth of batteries that died on me. I am waiting for a response back.

Now the only thing left for me to do is wait till Thursday, write up the 20 dollar money order, take the faulty ESC and mail  it to Traxxas with Priority Mail with insurance and Delivery Confirmation to make sure that it arrives to them within a couple of days and to make sure that they did get the product.

At this time I am going to get going. I am really tired and I need to get some sleep. Good night everyone.
